If you are a Member of Parliament

Background

Each year, courts issue more than 1,000 convictions in cases of animal cruelty, where offenders are banned from keeping animals in the future. It is well known that animal abusers are often also perpetrators of domestic violence. Holly Bramley was a victim of such a case.

Current situation

The police maintain records of offenders who have been legally banned by the courts from keeping animals due to cruelty or violence against animals. However, the use of this information is currently not mandatory for any organisation.

The aim of the initiative

The aim of Holly’s Law is to introduce a draft legislation to Parliament that would establish a procedure based on existing legislation and the already available police records, enabling the effective prevention of previously banned offenders from keeping animals again.

What we ask from you

We have already held personal meetings with several MPs, and our goal is to present our initiative to as many representatives as possible. We would appreciate the opportunity to introduce the proposed legislation to you as well, so that you can support our initiative against animal cruelty and domestic violence according to your own judgement and conviction.

If you would like to learn more about our initiative or receive further information on the topic, please contact us at enquiries@haworthfamilylaw.co.uk, and we will be happy to assist you.
